About SJIPPIE Boat Products
Frequently Asked Questions
Use on other surfaces:
Boat wax & black streak remover: Also applicable to fascia boards, plastic window frames and snaps.
Inflatable Boat Spray Wax: In addition to inflatable boats, this product is suitable for HPL and polyester, among others; not ideal for porous surfaces.
Maintenance and waterproofing:
After cleaning with the Sjippie Cloth Cleaner, the Bimini is usually still waterproof for cloths younger than 3 years; impregnation is recommended for cloths older than 3 years.
For convertible tops, both a WET and DRY treatment are recommended to optimally restore water tightness.
Special brushes and cleaning methods:
Red vs. Blue Wash Brushes:
Red hair: Specially for the Underwater hull cleaner (acid resistant).
Blue bristles: Designed for surfaces that must not be damaged and are easy to clean by boiling.
Polishing paste: Can be applied by machine, provided the surface has first been thoroughly cleaned.
Specific applications and tips:
PTFE Spray : Does not leave stains thanks to its dry, non-oil based composition.
Underwater hull cleaner : Observe safety precautions (open air, gloves, safety glasses) and protect the environment (e.g. concrete) from stains.
Use on jet skis: Also suitable for jet skis; the Quick Shine is ideal for plastic surfaces.
Scrub Kits & Scrubbing Products : Can be used in conjunction with the Underwater Hull Cleaner, but be aware that the fluid can sometimes “stick” to the brushes and affect efficiency.
Product compatibility and additional use:
The combination of wax and shine shampoo with extra wax is not mandatory, but can provide extra protection.
After removing black leak marks caused by air pollution, a treatment with Bootwax can slow down the process and simplify cleaning.
