Why Use Meerpens?
Mooring pins are essential tools for safely mooring your boat in locations without permanent mooring facilities. By inserting or turning a mooring pin into the ground, you immediately create a firm attachment point for your mooring lines, so that your boat stays in place, even in soft ground or light waves.
Different Types of Multipens
Spiral mooring pin : The spiral mooring pin, also known as a screw mooring pin, has a spiral-shaped bottom that allows you to easily turn the pin into the ground without a hammer. The top can serve as a cleat for your mooring line. This type of mooring pin stays in place in sandy soil and offers extra stability.
Straight mooring pin : This variant is hammered into the ground and has a mooring ring at the top for your mooring line. Straight mooring pins are available in different lengths and are ideal for a firm attachment in different types of ground.
Which Mooring Pen Suits Your Boat?
The weight of your boat and the ground determine which mooring pin is most suitable. Below you will find a guideline for choosing the right mooring pin:
200 - 500 kg : 2 multi-pins of 300 mm x 12 mm
500 - 1000 kg : 2 to 3 multi-pins of 350 mm x 16 mm
1000 - 1700 kg : 2 to 3 multi-pins of 425 mm x 20 mm
1700 - 3500 kg : 2 to 3 multi-pins of 500 mm x 22 mm
3500 - 6000 kg : 2 to 4 multi-pins of 550 mm x 25 mm
